Your account and your data

You own your data. This article explains what we hold, how to get a copy of it, and how to delete your account.

What we hold about you

  • Your account record — email address, optional display name, default currency, the count of free tab credits you have left, when the account was created.
  • The tabs you've opened — name, base currency, members, expenses, payments, settlement history.
  • Tabs you've been added to by someone else — your participation in expenses and payments inside those tabs.
  • Operational data needed to run the service — sign-in history, audit logs of significant actions, billing records for any paid tabs.

For the full legal description, see our Privacy Policy.

Exporting a copy of your data

Per-tab ledger CSV exports are available inside the app — open any tab, choose a member, and use the "Download CSV" action on their personal ledger page.

For a complete export of everything we hold about you across all your tabs, get in touch. We'll send you a machine-readable archive within 30 days, in line with your right to data portability under UK GDPR.

Deleting your account

We don't yet have a self-serve delete-account button in the app, but you have the right to delete your account at any time. Email us from the address on your account and we'll process the deletion within 30 days.

Two things to know before you delete:

  • Tabs you own — your tabs go away with the account. If you share a tab with others and want them to keep it, transfer ownership first (Tab settings → Transfer ownership) or invite a co-owner before deleting.
  • Tabs you're a member of but don't own — these stay alive (they belong to the tab owner), but your name and contributions become "Removed user" on those tabs' history. The historical balance maths still hold.

Deletion is irreversible — once we've processed it, your account, expenses, payments, and balances cannot be restored.

Other privacy requests

UK GDPR gives you the right to access, correct, or restrict the processing of your personal data. For any of these — or if you have a question we haven't answered here — contact the team from the email address on your account.
